Privacy Policy for China Hand

China Hand is a card game. This policy explains what information it handles and why. The short version: China Hand has no server, no account system, and no analytics. Almost everything it stores stays on your device.

Information stored on your device

China Hand saves the following locally, using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults):

• The player name you choose (used to label your seat at the table — you can change or clear it anytime in Settings within the app)
• Game statistics and rank progress
• Your selected card theme
• Your Supporter status and China Token balance

None of this is transmitted to us, because we don't operate a server that the app talks to. We simply have no way to see it.

Syncing between your own devices

Your China Token balance and Supporter status sync across your own iPhone and iPad using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage, tied to your Apple ID. This is Apple's infrastructure, governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours. You can disable iCloud for any app in iOS Settings.

Playing with people nearby

Local multiplayer uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework, which works entirely over your local Wi-Fi/Bluetooth — no internet connection and no server are involved. To let nearby devices find and join a game, your device's name is broadcast to other devices in range during matchmaking, the same way it already is for AirDrop. If your device is named after you (e.g. "Alex's iPhone"), that name will be visible to people near you while you're hosting or looking for a game. Once a match starts, no gameplay data leaves the group of connected devices.

Game Center

If you choose to play online, China Hand uses Apple Game Center for matchmaking. This is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and Game Center terms. We don't receive your Apple ID, email, or real name — Game Center identifies you to other matched players using an anonymized player ID that Apple provides. We don't use Game Center leaderboards or achievements.

Purchases

China Hand offers a one-time Supporter unlock and optional China Token packs, handled entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. We never see your payment details, billing address, or card information — Apple's payment sheet handles all of that directly. We only receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded, so the app can unlock the corresponding content.

What we don't do

• No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs of any kind
• No advertising, no ad networks, no ad identifiers
• No third-party tracking of any kind
• Nothing is sold or shared with third parties
• No account creation, no email address, no sign-up required to play

Children's privacy

China Hand does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the app has no server and no account system, there is no personal information for us to collect in the first place. Local multiplayer's device-name broadcast (above) is the one thing a parent may want to be aware of, and it's controllable via the device's own name in iOS Settings.

Data deletion

Everything China Hand stores lives on your device. To remove it entirely, delete the app — this clears local storage. To also clear the iCloud-synced token balance, turn off iCloud for China Hand in iOS Settings before deleting, or contact us and we'll walk you through it (though again, we never actually hold this data ourselves — it lives in your iCloud account).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
